Red Cross disaster assistance focuses on meeting people's immediate disaster-caused needs for things such as food, clothing and shelter, basic health care and emotional support. All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by the voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.
November 7, 2011
At approximately 3:00 a.m. Monday morning, Tippecanoe County DAT [Disaster Action Team] members provided support to White County DAT members at a grain fire in Monon. We provided rehab [water, coffee, and snacks] for 5 different fire departments at the scene.
November 6, 2011
Around noon on Sunday, DAT members were dispatched to a fire at Bridgewater Apartments. Assistance was given to one family. Rehab was provided to approximately 30 emergency workers.
Later that day, at approximately 8pm Sunday evening, DAT members responded to a truck fire on I-65 where rehab was provided for approximately 50 emergency workers
