Annual HEROES Campaign

"HEROES for the American Red Cross" is a grassroots campaign in which local business people, school groups, church groups, civic clubs, and individuals pledge to raise at least $1,100, through any legal means they choose, for the local Red Cross chapter.

$1,100 is what it costs to feed, clothe and shelter a family of 4 who have lost everything to a house fire.

Individuals who volunteer to become HEROES for the American Red Cross chapter agree to raise and/or donate a minimum of $1,100 towards the campaign and their team. The HEROES will receive support from Red Cross staff, ensuring a successful campaign.

How to be a HERO

Anyone in the community can be a HERO. Each HERO is responsible for meeting with the Red Cross Development Director prior to the campaign, as well as giving weekly updates during the campaign. Each week, all HEROES will receive updates from the Red Cross as to how each HERO is doing on reaching their goal.

If a HERO is planning a fundraising event, they NEED to contact the Red Cross development director in order to maximize publicity and avoid duplication.

HEROES are a visible part of the campaign! All HEROES will . . .

  • Be listed, along with their picture, in the Journal and Courier Ad at the beginning and end of the campaign to receive recognition for their efforts
  • Be featured on the Red Cross website
  • Receive a certificate of appreciation
  • Be included in the Red Cross newsletter
  • Be recognized in the Annual Report
  • Support critical, local services right here in our community

Once a HERO is recruited, he or she can begin raising funds immediately.

Thank you for your enthusiastic support!
