Military Family Research Institute at Purdue

The Military Family Research Institute (MFRI) is a research and outreach organization based at Purdue University, supported by Lilly Endowment Inc., the Department of Defense, and others.

MFRI's mission is to extend and strengthen the ability of organizations to help military families. We do this by designing and implementing outreach activities that assist military families primarily within but also beyond Indiana. We also conduct research with and for military families, generating important new knowledge about their experiences. MFRI strives to build relationships with partners in both the military and civilian communities. We seek to learn about current support structures, deepen understanding of what families need, and develop and promote interventions to address existing gaps.
