Festival/Fair Squad
Department: Education and Outreach
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and manage presentations in a professional environment.
- Equip participants/event attendees with general knowledge of the programs and services of the American Red Cross.
- Answer questions pertaining to the American Red Cross and the Tippecanoe County Chapter.
- Work with Volunteer Services Director to determine event/presentation schedules and set up/ take down event supplies.
- Manage materials and supplies to be handed out at community events.
- Accurately record event information on an activity sheet after each community event.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Interest in people and the ability to work well with volunteers and paid staff.
- Thorough knowledge of the Mission, Fundamental Principles, history and services of the American Red Cross.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide quality customer service.
- Knowledge of general office protocol, procedures and equipment.
- Overall mobility and the ability to stoop, crouch, lift and push 20 lbs.
- Professional appearance and manner.
- Bi-lingual Spanish/English a plus.
Training:
- Orientation to the American Red Cross. (video or online modules)
- On the job training as necessary.
- Be Red Cross Ready Presentation.
Commitment:
- Fairs/Events typically occur on weekends or evenings. The number of events per month varies from 0-5 and assisting at one per month or more is ideal. The volunteers shifts typically range from 1 hour to 5 hours.
